Connie Ann Whisenhunt Giles
Bogata--Connie Ann Giles, 51, of Bogata died on Wednesday, August 15, 2007, at Paris Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services were set for 2:00 PM, Friday, August 17, 2007, at Bogata Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Billy Daniels officiating. Musical selections planned were "Any Day Now," "The Rose," "Tough,", and "I Can Only Imagine." Burial followed in Bogata Cemetery under the direction of Wood Funeral Home of Bogata.
Pallbearers were Elmer Giles, Frank Giles, Jamy Giles, Tammy Giles, Gary Giles, Tim Giles, and Dale Giles.
The family received friends from 7:00 to 9:00 PM, Thursday, August 16, 2007, at the Bogata Missionary Baptist Church.
She was born on December 3, 1955, in Greenville, the daughter of Sam Whisenhunt and Betty Harper Whisenhunt. On September 18, 1976, she was married to Gene Giles in Leonard. She was former President of the Rivercrest Booster Club and active member. She worked for City Cleaners of Mount Pleasant for fifteen years and was employed by Rivercrest ISD as custodian. "She was a woman of strength and dignity, Proverbs 11: 25."
Some of Connie's Favorite Things: talking about her Dad, being with her grandchildren, helping with Booster Club, parking cars at the rodeo, working word search puzzles, making peanut brittle for Drew, coaching her girls softball, and cooking Sunday lunch for everyone.
She is survived by her husband, Gene Giles, of Bogata; her mother, Betty Whisenhunt of Leonard; her three sons, Jason Giles and Brian Giles and wife, April Giles, all of Bogata and Ryan Giles and wife, Karie Giles, of Clarksville; her two daughters, Michelle Gibbs and husband, Shane Gibbs, and Tiffany Giles, all of Bogata; two brothers, Johnny Whisenhunt of Aubrey and Billy Dan Whisenhunt and wife, Robin Whisenhunt, of Leonard; and sister, Sherry Anderson and husband, John Anderson, of Wolfe City; and her five grandchildren, Ally, Leah, Blake, Braden, and Mady.
