David Preston Hopewell
David Preston Hopewell, 90, of the White Rock/Kingston communities died the night of October 8, 2007, at Presbyterian Hospital of Greenville. A graveside service is scheduled at 10:30 AM, Thursday, October 11, 2007, at Celeste Cemetery with the Rev. Bob Layman officiating.
Visitation is from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, October 10, 2007, at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home in Greenville.
The son of William Franklin Hopewell and Irene Webster Hopewell, he was born on the family farm in Hunt County on March 8, 1917, and lived there his entire life.
Mr. Hopewell was a farmer. He was a Baptist and was a member of the IOOF Lodge for forty-five years.
Surviving are nephews Robert E. Hopewell and wife Pat Hopewell, James Preston Hopewell, and W. F. “Buddy” Hopewell and wife Linda Hopewell, and nieces Shirley Fanning and husband Jack Fanning and Marilyn E. Hopewell.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Robert Edwin Hopewell, Wilbur Travis Hopewell, and Wade Franklin Hopewell; and sisters Irene Patterson, Coralie Cotton, and Kathleen Hopewell.
