D. B. Lewis
D. B. Lewis, 79, of Celeste, passed away on Friday, March 12, 1982, at a Greenville hospital.
Funeral service was held on Saturday, March 13, 1982, at the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Robert Farr and the Rev. Albert Click officiating. Burial was at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio.
Born on November 2, 1902, in Hunt County, he was the son of Edgar C. Lewis and Alice Sewell Lewis. He was married to Coy Gladys Milton on September 4, 1929, in Durant, Oklahoma. A veteran of WWII, Mr. Lewis was retired from the US Army Air Force. He was a member of the Methodist Church.
Surviving are his wife of Celeste; son, Charles Lewis of Dallas; daughter, Peggy Norwood of Greenville; sister, Edith McClure of Ravenna; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Earl Lewis, Bryon Lewis, and Hugh Lewis; and sister, Ruby Freeman.
Coker-Mathews Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangement.
