James Edward Deitz
James Edward Deitz, 60, of Lake Tawakoni died July 15, 2008, in Greenville. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Friday in the Ingram Funeral Home chapel with Pastor Ronnie Nalls officiating.The son of the late Bill and Mary Deraney Deitz, he was born Sept. 24, 1947, in Grand Forks, N.D. He was raised and attended school in Grand Forks. Following graduation he went to work for Burlington Northern Railroad and was transferred to Lincoln, Neb., in 1980 where he worked until his retirement in 2002. In 2006 he moved to Lake Tawakoni. James enjoyed riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle, fishing and hunting. He was a member of the National Rifle Association.James was loved and will be missed by his longtime companion Jeanne Swartz of Lake Tawakoni; two sons, Tony Deitz and wife Mary of Corn Rapids, Minn., and Eric Deitz and wife Tina of Blaine, Minn.; a daughter, Teresa Byrne and husband Kevin of Oklahoma City, Okla.; grandchildren Chase, Colten and Clayton; a brother, Bill Deitz and wife Carolyn of Grand Forks. N.D.; sister Rita McKay and husband Jim of Grand Forks, N.D.; and his dogs, “Babe” and “Digger.”
