Desi Ray Smallwood was born July 7, 1952, to the parentage of J.D. and Sue Nelle Smallwood. He graduated from Greenville High School in 1970. He also attended Henderson College in Kilgore and East Texas State University in Commerce. Mr. Smallwood passed away on Friday, June 23, 2006. Those left to cherish his memories are three brothers, Billy R. Stiggers Sr. and Tracy Smallwood, both of Dallas, and Hilbert Reed Jr. of Long Beach, Calif.; sister, Avis Washington of Garland; eight nieces, three nephews and 37 great-nieces and nephews. Funeral services are at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 27, 2006, at Bethel A.M.E. Church with Supt. Roy L. Price officiating. Burial will follow at Grundy Memorial Park. Visitation is from 9:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.
