QUINLAN — Doris Jean Stevens, 74, resident of Quinlan, passed away early in the morning on Oct. 8, 2006, at her home. Her memorial service is at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Quinlan Funeral Home chapel with Brother Gary Grable officiating. Doris was born on June 18, 1932, in Ogden, Utah, the daughter of James E. and Eunice M. Cook Harpster. Doris is well known in the Quinlan area for her delicious food from her catering service. She also was a candy decorator for Mary of Puddin Hill in Greenville. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church. Doris was a sweet, sensitive, caring woman who will be missed by her family and friends whose hearts she touched. She is survived by three daughters, Cheryl Weir of Sulphur Springs and Vicki Waite and husband Kent and Jessica Stevens of Quinlan; one son, James Stevens of Georgia; two grandsons, Dean Weir of Dallas and Jeff Waite of Oklahoma; three great-grandsons, Christopher Shelby and Michael Shelby of Sulphur Springs, and Joshua Waite of Royse City; one sister, Ruth Rubaclava of Nevada; former husband, Keith Stevens of Quinlan; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
