Dorsie Green, 44, prominent resident of the White Rock community and World War (I) veteran, passed away at his family home Friday afternoon following a week's illness of pneumonia.

Funeral services will be held at 4:00 PM, August 7, 1937, at the White Rock Baptist Church, conducted by Rev. Fred Moore, pastor, assisted by Rev. Harrison Baker, pastor of Munger Avenue Methodist Church in Dallas, and Rev. Davis, past of the White Rock Methodist Church. Burial will be at the White Rock Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be nephews of the deceased, Raymond Green, Burl Green, Houston Powell, Fay Powell, Marvin Green, Earl Green. Flower girls will be nieces.

Mr. Green was born on October 1, 1893, in White Rock and had lived in that community all of his life. He had been engaged in business at White Rock for a number of years, being a successful farmer and manager of the cotton gin in that community at the time of his death. He was a leader in community affairs and always helped with any program that was for the betterment of his community and county. He was one of the most prominent citizens of that section and was well known through the county and state.
On April 14, 1920, Mr. Green was married to Miss Daphine Trotter, of White Rock, and to this union five children were born.

He is survived by his widow and the following children; Dorothy Lynn, Kenneth Horton, Veta Green, and Dorsie Ray Green, all of White Rock. Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Bart Biggs, of Woodson; and Mrs. L. M. Powell, of Greenville; and six brothers, John Green, Wayne Green, Sherman Green, and Marion Green, all of White Rock; Will Green, of Celeste; and E. Green, of Duncan, Oklahoma. Numerous other relatives mourn his death.

Mr. Green was a loving father and a kind brother and friend. He was converted early in life and joined the Baptist Church, remaining a faithful Christian until death.
