Earnel R. Humphries
Earnel R. Humphries of RR 1, Celeste, died in a Greenville hospital at 2:00 AM, Saturday, after having been in ill health since 1962.
Funeral services will be at 2:30 PM, February 5, 1967, in the Sorrells and Sons Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Raymond Bugg and the Rev. Fred Brewer officiating. Burial will be in East Mount Cemetery.
Mr. Humphries was born on April 25, 1895, in Georgia had lived in Hunt County since he was five years old. A retired farmer, he was of the Baptist faith. His parents were Perry L. Humphries and Victoria Simms Humphries.
He was married to the former Miss Zera Jernigan in 1930 in Hugo, Oklahoma.
Survivors, in addition to his widow, are three sons, E. R. Humphries, Hr., of Greenville, E. W. Humphries of Sulphur Springs, and Donald Ray Humphries of RR 1, Celeste; three daughters, Mrs. B. W. Sumrow of South Gate, California, Mrs. Ray Sweet of Greenville, and Miss Sandra Humphries of RR 1, Celeste; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and other relatives.
Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
