Ella Bess McGuire Shields
HOWE — Ella Bess Shields, 84, died September 17, 2007, at her residence in Howe.
She was born April 9, 1923, in Celeste to Clarence McGuire and Cindie Hunter McGuire. She was a very active member of the Howe Methodist Church, a retired school teacher, an active member of the Lane Cemetery Association, and a 1940 Celeste High School graduate.
Ella is survived by one daughter, Paula Walker and husband Doyle Walker of Royse City; a son, Gary Mac Shields and friend Tricia Grigg of Howe; and two grandchildren, Meredith Walker and Lance Walker. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence Chilton McGuire on October 30, 1982 and Cindie R. Hunter McGuire on September 12, 1984; her husband, Paul Martin Shields on August 21, 1961; and an infant brother, John William McGuire.
Funeral services are at 3:00 PM, Thursday, September 20, 2007, at the Howe Methodist Church at with the Rev. Tom Medley officiating. Burial will follow at Hall Cemetery.
Family night is from 6:30 to 8:30 PM, September 19, 2007, today at Flesher Funeral Home in Howe.
