FATE — Elmer Ray Cox of Sachse died Sunday, Dec. 17, 2006, in Garland. Funeral services are at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2006, at the First Baptist Church of Fate with Rev. Mike Shupe officiating. Burial is in Simmons Cemetery in Cash.
Mr. Cox was born Jan. 24, 1922, in Caddo Mills; the son of Elmer H. and Frances Killough Cox. He was married to Velma Caldwell, who preceded him in death.
Mr. Cox was a carpenter and farmer. He was a U.S. Army veteran and served in World War II. He was a Baptist.
Surviving are daughters Jolene Geurian of Sachse and Jean Moore of Austin; sisters Lila Talley McGinn and Sylvia McCasland, both of Commerce; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters.
Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Rentfrow Funeral Home.
