CADDO MILLS — Emerson Noah Brand, 29, of Caddo Mills died March 15, 2007; he was killed in action with four others in Baghdad while defending his country. Funeral services are at 1 p.m. Saturday at Faith Bible Church in Caddo Mills with Rev. Jim Anderson officiating. Burial is in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Caddo Mills.
Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Rentfrow Funeral Home.
Born Jan, 22, 1978, in Sacramento, Calif., he was the son of John and Debra Lynn Mendez Brand. He was a sergeant in the U.S. Army and was serving his second tour in Iraq. He was planning to marry Debra Welsh upon his return home from Iraq.
Survivors are his fiancee, Debra Welsh of Caddo Mills; sons and daughters Skyler, Chandell, Chelsie, Channae and E’Leesa Welsh, all of Caddo Mills; granddaughter Kailey Krodle of Caddo Mills; his parents of Claremore, Okla.; brothers and sisters who are the children of John and Sue Brand, Richard and sister-in-law Debbie Brand of Broken Arrow, Okla., Kelli and brother-in-law Phillip Ford of Lamar, Ark., Joann and brother-in-law George Newman of Olive Branch, Miss., Leslie and brother-in-law Rob Schreckhise of Lamar, Ark., and Stephen and sister-in-law, Jody Brand of Spokane, Wash.; and grandparents Gabriel and Mary Mendez of Idaho Falls, Idaho.
