DALLAS — Faye Koger Copeland, born Oct. 26, 1919, in Caddo Mills, died July 28, 2006. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Bammie Koger and brothers Lloyd, Harlis and A.D. (Bud) Koger. Mrs. Copeland is survived by her beloved husband of 65 years, Simon Copeland; sisters Opal Gavin, Gladys Owens, Rogene Coleman, Dorothy Thompson and Joe Ann Tate. Faye had no children; however, she leaves a host of nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews who she helped raise and nurture throughout their lives.
She was an avid gardener, and after retiring from General Motors in Dallas she moved to Greenville where she received awards for yard of the month. She passed on the importance of faith in God, the care of family and maintaining a neat, tidy environment at home. Faye provided lifelong cherished happy memories to each she leaves. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Laurel Land Memorial Chapel. Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today.
