Winona Fox
Each one of us must release the hand of the one we love, into the hand of one we have not seen.
Winona A. Fox passed from this life and entered her peace on Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2008, after a long journey with Alzheimer's disease.
Personal arrangements for the Fox Family have been entrusted to Coker Matthews Funeral Home of Greenville. Her memory will be honored at the Funeral Home Chapel Saturday January 19, 2008 at 2p.m., her grandchildren officiating. A gathering of family and friends to share life's memories will be from 6 until 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 18, 2008, at the funeral home.
Winona was a wonderful person, loving mother, sister, grandmother and friend for life. Her sense of humor and quick wit helped to make her loved by many. Winona's smile could brighten any moment and she will be intensely missed by those she touched in precious ways.
She was born in Sopris, Colo., to Joseph and Mattie (Stapleton) Brannan. She married Lawrence B. Fox, Oct. 5, 1946, in Rockwall. He preceded her in death Dec. 10, 1990. She was raised in Wieland and raised her family in Seagraves. She was also a former resident of Maple; Loving, N.M.; Clovis, N.M.; and Crosbyton.
She leaves to cherish her memory three daughters, Jo Fox of Odessa, Linda Hughes of Euless and Shyrlee Fox of Denton; step-daughter, Joy Luton of Arlington; 11 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, one step-grandson, one brother and one sister. She was also preceded in death by three sisters; her son, David Fox; and step-son, Levoy Fox.
