Gaston E. Aven
Gaston E. Aven, 83, died at 4:00 PM on Friday in a local hospital. He had been in failing health for several years.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday in the Sorrells and Sons Chapel. Burial will be in the Celeste Cemetery. Bruce Pryor and W. W. Kirk will officiate.
Born on February 24, 1884, in Celeste, he was the son of F. H. Aven and Julia Hightower Aven. He was a member of the Church of Christ and a retired barber. He was reared in Celeste, but lived in Daingerfield for a number of years, returning to Celeste in 1947.
He was married to Beth Fargo in Sherman in 1908.
Survivors include the widow; three brothers, Drey Aven, Celeste; M. G. Aven, Tyler; Frank Aven, Gatesville; three sisters, Mrs. Velma Holland, Commerce, Mrs. Leta Lyday and Mrs. Alyne Ruff, both of Celeste; and a number of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
