Hollis “Red” White, 84 of Greenville died April 22, 2007, at a local hospital. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Peters Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Ronnie Hickey officiating. Burial will follow at Memoryland Memorial Park.
Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
He was born June 25, 1922, in Cooper, son of William and Mattie Pound White. On June 21, 1959, he married Alice Starnes Ware in Dallas. He retired from E-Systems after 42 years. He was of the Methodist faith.
He is survived by his wife of Greenville; two daughters, Betsy Colleen Wilkinson of Quinlan and Kathy La Cook of Greenville; sons Hershel Ware and wife Gayle of Greenville and Steve Ware of Quinlan; grandchildren Hollie and Brittany Wilkinson, James La Cook Jr. and wife Cherish, Michelle Powell and husband Daniel and Shelly Wardlow and husband Jeff; great-grandchildren Michael and Haley Powell and Savannah Wardlow; two brothers, R.L. White and wife Ella May and Irby White and wife Martha; and a sister, Alice Hightower.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Olen White; and sisters Ethel Moore, Rowena Fackrell and Juanita McComic.
James La Cook Jr., Darrell La Cook, Joey Lewis, Jeff Wardlow, Daniel Powell and James Wilkinson will serve as pallbearers.
