Howard Lynn Roach, Sr.
Howard Lynn Roach, 63, of Celeste, died Friday, April 16, 1976, in Ladonia.
Funeral services for Roach will be held at 2:30 PM, Sunday, April 18, 1976, in Taylor Funeral Home Chapel, Leonard, with the Rev. Gary Kincaid and the Rev. Bobby Renfro officiating. Burial will be in the Celeste Cemetery.
He was born on September 11, 1912, in Celeste, to James Franklin Roach and Alice McDonald Roach. He was married to the former Theda Faye Giles in Oklahoma on August 20, 1941.
A Riverside Chemical Company employee and a farmer, he is survived by his wife; a son, Howard Roach, Jr., of Whitewright; three daughters, Mrs. Jerry (Sarah) Swindell of Celeste, Mrs. David (Pat) Pruitt of Hereford, and Mrs. John (Alice) Garcia of Celeste; two brothers, Garland Roach of Greenville and James Roach of San Antonio; four sisters, Mrs. Geneva Johnson and Miss Grace Roach, both Rankin residents, Mrs. Florine Dodson of Electra and Mrs. Estelle Rogers of Leonard; and five grandchildren, David Swindell, Shelly Swindell, Jeff Garcia, John Allen Garcia, all of Celeste, and Jana Pruitt of Hereford.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Ernest Roach and Louis Roach and a sister, Mrs. Ada B. (Elmer) Lacy.
Pallbearers are Earnest Berry, Elmo Duncan, Ben McCorstin, Jerry Smalley, Bill Barnard, and Johnnie Lyon.
Honorary pallbearers are Clarence McGuire, Lee McCorstin, Charles Howard Lewis, T. B. Weatherley, Jr., Norman Messick, Byird Glasscoe, and Laute Nichols.
