Howard Thompson
June 28, 1992 -- Funeral services for Howard Thompson of Campbell will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Peters Funeral Home Chapel with burial at Sullivan Cemetery.
Mr. Thompson died Sunday in a Dallas hospital. He was born Nov. 25, 1911 in the Shady Grove Community, the son of W. A. "Bud" and Josephine Crump Thompson. He married Eula Isham on Nov. 22, 1930, in Hunt County. He was a Baptist and was a farmer and heavy equipment operator.
Survivors include five sons, Lee Thompson of Dallas, Burnace Thompson of Greenville; Howard Thompson of Garland, Herschel Thompson of Farmersville and Mike Thompson of Commerce; three daughters, Bettie Couch of Quinlan, Barbara Massey of Greenville, Doris Swearingin of Greenville; three brothers, Dave Thompson of Tyler, Burrell Thompson of Tuscon, Ariz., and Bill Thompson of Greenville; three sisters, Vera Apple and Nora Hooten of Greenville and Nora Jo Reznick of Houston; 18 grandchildren and 48 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Thompson was preceded in death by his wife in 1990, a daughter, Melba Lindsey in 1990; one brother, two sisters and four grandchildren.
The family will receive visitors at Peters Funeral Home 7-8:30 p.m. today.
