Sara Ann Neil Hudson
Funeral services for Mrs. G. Hudson, 84, who died at 4:15 AM, Sunday, November 30, 1954, at her home near Farmersville, were held at 2:00 PM, Monday, December 1, 1954.
Services were conducted by the Rev. Aaron Coleman of Greenville and the Rev. Marion Miller of Ector at the Pleasant Valley Baptist Church. Burial was in the Farmersville Cemetery.
Grandsons were pallbearers.
Born in Joplin, Missouri, on December 18, 1870, Mrs. Sarah Ann Neil Hudson was the daughter of Hamilton Neil and Elizabeth Mills Neil. Her parents came to Texas when she was a small child and she had resided near Farmersville most of her life. She was a member of the Pleasant Valley Baptist Church.
On September 8, 1890, she was married to G. Hudson. The couple celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary in 1940.
Mr. Hudson died on October 9, 1942. Mamie Elizabeth Hudson preceded her in death and a grandson, Lieutenant Cordus Thornton, was killed while being held prisoner of war in Korea.
Surviving are seven children; Cecil Hudson of Greenville, Sebron Hudson of Vernon, Omer Hudson and B. G. Hudson of Greenville,
Mrs. J. D. Stuart of Greenville, Mrs. Cecil (Ida) Arey of Celeste, and Miss Ila Hudson; and a sister, Mrs. Nannie Jordan of Bakersfield, California. Also surviving are fourteen grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
