Ida L. Springsteen, 97, of Greenville died the night of Nov. 6, 2006, at Park Haven Nursing Home. A memorial service is scheduled at 4 p.m. Thursday at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home chapel with Dr. Glenn Cook officiating.
The daughter of T.C. and Allie Sigler Donathan, she was born Aug. 19, 1909, in Hood County. She was educated in the Greenville public schools and Greenville Business College. She was a longtime employee of Joe Reed Appliance Store and following her retirement from Reed’s, she was employed by James Krodle Plumbing Company for about 20 years. Surviving are several cousins, including May Fair Hudgeons of Greenville and Frances Pharr of Corpus Christi, and special friends Barbara Edgerly and Gwen Clack, both of Greenville.
She was preceded in death by a son and daughter.
