Jackie Don Sumrow
Jackie Don Sumrow, 51, of West Tawakoni, passed away on Wednesday, June 9, 1982, at his home.
Funeral service was held on Friday, June 11, 1982, at Coker-Mathews Chapel with the Rev. Ben Smith and the Rev. Merle May officiating. Burial was in Memoryland Memorial Park.
He was born on May 8, 1931, in Merit to Spencer S. Sumrow and Velma Pearl Skeeters Sumrow. He was married to Mary Sanders on June 20, 1975, in Durant, Oklahoma. Mr. Sumrow was graduated from high school in 1948 and attended Saint Mary's College in San Antonio. He was a Korean War veteran and received his discharge in 1959. He was a thirty-two year employee of Southwestern Bell in Dallas as a network design engineer and a member of the Faith Baptist Church in Quinlan.
Surviving are his wife of East Tawakoni; parents of Celeste; son, Paul Sumrow of West Tawakoni; stepson, Billy Garrett of Garland; daughter, Donja Ivy of Garland; stepdaughters, Cathy Krugjohann of Forney and Donette Hughes of Garland; brothers, Jerry Sumrow of Cash and Jim Sumrow of Celeste; and five grandchildren.
