James Edward Dixon, 56, of Greenville died Sept. 12, 2006, at the Greenville hospital. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. today at Living Word Church with Rev. Scott McManus officiating. Burial follows at Grundy Memorial Park. Born Jan. 4, 1950, in Henderson, Rusk County, he was the son of Doston Sr. and Rosie Lee Smith Dixon. Mr. Dixon was a laborer. He was a member of Living Word Church. Survivors are his wife, Betty Lou Dixon of Greenville; a son, Edward Dixon of Greenville; daughter Janet Dixon of Greenville; four sisters, Mary Dixon, Karen Dixon, and Linda McCrary, all of Greenville, and Dorothy Dixon of Kilgore; eight brothers, Doston Dixon Jr., Bobby Dixon, Billy Dixon, Roy Dixon, Charles Dixon, and Walter Dixon, all of Greenville, Randy Dixon of Mesquite and Calvin Dixon of Plano; and eight grandchildren. His father preceded him in death. Cozine & Tarver Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
