James Huey Daugherty, Sr.
Celeste--James Huey Daugherty, Sr., 66, of Celeste, died June 30, 2006, at his residence. Graveside services were at 10:00 AM, Monday, July 3, 2006, at McWright Cemetery under the direction of Coker-Mathews Funeral Home.
Born on September 13, 1939, in Phoenix, Arizona, he was the son of Paul Truman Daugherty and Pauline Ledbetter Daugherty. He was married to Carolyn Wade at Peniel Methodist Church on February 17, 1967.
He was a mechanic and a member of Bethel Baptist Church.
He was survived by his mother, Pauline Ledbetter Daugherty of Celeste; wife, Carolyn Wade Daughterty of Celeste; sons, James Huey Daughter, Jr., and Raymond Paul Daughterty, both of Celeste; daughter, Janna Daugherty Sullivan of Celeste; brothers, Ed Holland of Quitman and Paul Daughterty of Tyler; sisters, Carol Kilgore of Lexington, Brenda Linton of Blue Ridge, Nelda Haney of Lexington, and Phyllis Hamilton of Celeste; and nine grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father on December 13, 1968, and a brother, Roger Daugherty on February 23, 2005.
Pallbearers included Glen Haney, Sean Linton, Michael Hamilton, Lance Hartnefh, Mack McLendon, and David Linton.
The family received friends at their home.
