J. H. Read, aged 66 years, and a pioneer of the Kingston section, died at his home in Kingston community last Sunday, June 26, 1927.

For thirty-four years, Mr. Read had been a member of the Kingston Baptist Church and throughout the years of his life had made a most useful citizen.

He had been twice married, first to Miss Viola Louise Thomas and to this union nine children were born.

After the death of his first wife, he was married to Miss Annie Wilcoxen and to this union seven children were born.

Funeral was conducted by Revs. McDaniel and Mansfield, the latter a pioneer preacher in this section who had long known the deceased.

Mr. Read is survived by his wife and the following children:  Walter Read, Bailey Read, Mack Read, Woodrow Read, John Read, Mrs. Ethel Quattlebaum, Mrs. Ester Morrison, Mrs. Bessie Ferris, Annie Read, and Belle Read.  All of the children were present except John at the time of this death.
