LADONIA — John Drawbond of Ladonia died the morning of Jan. 10, 2007, at his home. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church with Rev. Sam Bush officiating.
Born March 6, 1938, in Blackstone, Va., he was the son of Russell Edward and Viola McCool Drawbond. He married Maggie Blume in 1967. Mr. Blackstone had been a resident of the Ladonia area since 1984 and was a retired grocer. He served in the United States Army from 1956 to 1958.
Survivors are his wife of Ladonia; sons Jackie Drawbond of Ladonia, Tim Drawbond of Tyler and Danny Huff of Grand Prairie; two sisters, Mary Taylor of Dallas and Nannie Procise of Blackstone, Va.; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Delta Funeral Home of Ladonia.
