John Henry Brown, 84, of Wolfe City died July 4, 2006, in Commerce. Funeral services are at 11 a.m. today at Mount Zion Baptist Church in Ladonia. Burial follows at Mount Carmel Cemetery in Wolfe City. Son of Elizabeth and Jim Brown, he was born May 5, 1922, in Blossom. He married Vertle Mae on April 23, 1946, in Ladonia. He served in the U.S. Army. He was employed by NeTex in Wolfe City. Mr. Brown was a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church in Ladonia. Survivors are sons Robert Brown (Judy) of Greenville, John L. Brown (Nellie), Dennis R. Brown (Kathy), and James A. Brown, all of Wolfe City, Michael Brown (Juanita) of Ladonia, and Ronnie Brown (Cathy) of San Antonio; a daughter, Janitha Brown Wortham (Troy) of Wolfe City; a sister, Charlene Jernigan of Wolfe City; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, seven brothers and three sisters. Cozine & Tarver Funeral Home of Greenville is in charge of arrangements.
