Cleburne Rites Set for John L. Roach
Cleburne, Texas--John Lyman Roach, 65, one of Southern Methodist University's outstanding football players during the 1920's died suddenly on Thursday at his hone on RR 2, Cleburne.
Roach, operator of Roach's Fishing Camp on upper Lake Whitney, had also operated camps on Lake Worth and Eagle Mountain Lake.
He letter on SMU's 1926 Southwest Conference Championship team and again in 1927.
Roach was a native of Lone Oak, but had lived for many years in Johnson County.
Survivors are his wife of Cleburne and a sister, Mrs. Ralph Cason of Granbury.
Funeral services will be held at 4:00 PM, Friday, in Crosier-Pearson Chapel in Cleburne. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
