COMMERCE — John Quinton Cowfer, 51, of Commerce died April 21, 2007, at Presbyterian Hospital of Greenville. A graveside service is scheduled at noon today at Rosemound Cemetery. Visitation is from 10 a.m. to noon today at Jones-Walker & Son Funeral Home.
Born Aug. 21, 1955, in Fort Riley, Kan., he was the son of Raymond James and Deanne Lurlin Christie Cowfer. He married Anna Hoffman on March 14, 1993, in Commerce. Mr. Cowfer served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He was self-employed as a graphic sign illustrator at American Sign & Design.
Survivors are his wife of Commerce; his children, Ian Cowfer, Evan Cowfer and Aslyn Cowfer, all of Commerce; and a sister, Christine Cowfer of Commerce.
Pallbearers are Dennis Sweeney, Jim Crofford and Raymond Chupp. John Favret is honorary pallbearer.
