Joseph Claude Swindell
Funeral services were held on Sunday afternoon at Webb Hill Baptist Church for Joseph Claude Swindell of RR 1, Celeste, Texas. The Rev. Hugh David and the Rev. Charlie Bethea officiated.
Burial was made in Forest Park Cemetery under the direction of Gray-Sorrells Funeral Home of Greenville.
Pallbearers were Sid Burket, Fred Scott, Clarence Scott, Clayton Roselle, Garland Merrell, and Arthur Seals, all of Wolfe City.
Mr. Swindell, forty-nine years of age, was born in Walnut Springs, Arkansas, on November 9, 1898, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Marcus Swindell. The family came to Texas when he was a child, settled near Alba, and later moved to Hunt County. He was a farmer.
Survivors besides his wife are one daughter, Mrs. Martin Attarton of Greenville; one son, Orville Swindell of Fort Worth; three brothers, Clyde Swindell of Alba, Bobbie Swindell and Noah Swindell of Fort Worth; three sisters, Mrs. Rachael Rollins of Wolfe City, Mrs. Lydia Moore of Alba, and Mrs. Ellie Holey of Fort Worth; and four grandchildren.
