Joyce M. Smith, 76, of Greenville, died early in the morning on Jan. 17, 2007, at LifeCare Hospital of Plano. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Paul Gould officiating. Burial will be in East Mount Cemetery.
Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Daughter of B.F. and Myrtle Duanna Nix Ray, she was born June 30, 1930, in the Floyd Community, Hunt County. On Aug. 19, 1949, she was married to Billy J. Smith in Greenville. Mrs. Smith was a retired school teacher. She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church and Texas State Teachers Association.
Surviving are her husband of Greenville; three sisters, Beatrice Coppinger of Dallas and Ira Turner and Inez Taft of Greenville; a brother, Byron Johnson of Merit; and numerous family members.
Her parents; a son, Lonny Joe Smith; and numerous siblings preceded her in death.
Pallbearers will be Dan Holland, Butch Holland, Doug Bean and Allen Gibson.
