COMMERCE — Larry Eugene McWhirter, 54, of Denver, Colo., formerly of Commerce died Feb. 3, 2007, in Denver. A memorial service is scheduled at 2:30 p.m. today at Jones-Walker & Son Funeral Home chapel, Commerce. Interment is in DFW National Cemetery.
Son of Nolan and Marie DeWolfe McWhirter, he was born Aug. 4, 1952, in Wichita, Kan. He served in the U.S. Army and the U.S. Air Force. Mr. McWhirter was a truck driver.
Survivors are his father, Dr. Nolan McWhirter of Commerce; three children, Larry Kyle Jester of Forney, Travis Eugene McWhirter of Jacksonville, N.C., and Tiffany Kral of San Clemente, Calif.; three grandchildren, Elizabeth Anne Jester, Colton Paige Kral and Jamie Keyleen Kral; and nephews Brian McWhirter and Bart Deaton of Commerce.
He was preceded in death by his mother and a brother, Bobby McWhirter.
Memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church of Commerce.
