Mrs. Herman Leake
Funeral services for Mrs. Herman Leake, who died Tuesday morning, March 17, 1953, at 7:40 AM, were held at the James-Coker-Peters Chapel on Thursday afternoon, March 19, 1953, at 2:30 PM.
Conducting the last rites were the Rev. George Sagen, pastor of the Washington Street Baptist Church, and the Rev. James L. Sandlin, pastor of the Central Christian Church. Interment was made in the Forest Park Cemetery in Greenville.
Pallbearers were Lester Cox, Clayton Causey, Robert Scott, S. A. Mouger, Ira Nicholson, and Floyd McNatt.
A resident of RR 4, Greenville, Mrs. Leake was born in Celeste on March 5, 1909. She was the daughter of Claude A. Ford and Bennie Sampson Ford. She was married to Herman Leake on February 14, 1929. She was a member of the Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband; one son, Herman C. Leake; her mother, Mrs.. H. A. Mansfield; and one sister, Mrs. Claudene Montford of Bridgeport.
