Emma Flenniken Lewis
Mrs. J. H. Lewis, formerly of Celeste, died suddenly at 4:00 PM, Monday, April 4, 1955, at her home, 2535 Live Oak Street, in San Angelo.
Funeral services were held at 4:00 PM, Wednesday, April 6, 1955, at the Baptist Church in Celeste. Burial was in Celeste.
Pallbearers were Jess McGuire, Pete Hudson, Jacque Bickham, Tom Sparks, Jack Barbee, and Anson Cunningham.
Mrs. Lewis, the former Emma Flenniken, was reared at Celeste and made her home here for many years. She had recently been residing with her daughter, Mrs. J. C. Dennis in San Angelo.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Wynn Higgins, Mrs. J. C. Dennis, and Mrs. Zella Jordan, San Angelo; two sons, Judge Robert Lewis, Hillsboro, and Charles Lewis, Houston; and three sisters, Mrs. Albert Bull, Greenville, Mrs. C. M. Rucker, Brownwood, and Mrs. Clay Bowsher, Hereford.
