Linda Kay Brown, 62, of Greenville died the morning of Aug. 22, 2006, at her residence. A memorial service is scheduled at 10 a.m. Thursday at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home chapel with Brittany Peters, family and friends officiating. The daughter of Leon Pace and Arvella Lavern Barnes, she was born March 21, 1944, in Norman, Okla. On Feb. 24, 1961, she was married to Dan Brown in Mesquite. She was a legal secretary for the county attorney of Hunt County. Surviving are her husband of 45 years of Greenville; her mother, Arvella Lavern Kirk of Greenville; a daughter, Rhonda Ranee Wilkins of Greenville; two sons, Danny Joe Brown and Darren Kirk Brown, both of Greenville; a son-in-law, Vernon Wilkins of Greenville; two daughters-in-law, Mary Jane Brown and Susan Brown of Greenville; a brother, Darrell Pace of Greenville; two sisters, Jan Kirk of Greenville and Mandi Corum of Colorado; grandchildren Chad Locke, Monica Newkirk, Adrienne Aimes and husband Matthew, Danny Joe Brown Jr., Justin Brown, Marissa Brown, Derek Brown, Dakota Brown and Demi Brown, all of Greenville; great-grandchildren Kayleigh Newkirk, Kylie Locke, Bailee Aimes, Jace Newkirk, Marquis Locke and Lindan Kayde, all of Greenville; and best friends of 40 years, Richard and Sharon Steakley of Mesquite. Her father preceded her in death in 1998. Memorials may be made to the Susan G. Komen Cancer Foundation, P.O. Box 650309, Dallas, Texas 75265-0309. The family will receive friends at DB’s Bowling Center following the service.
