E. M. Lipsey
Funeral services were held on Monday afternoon, November 9, 1953, at 2:30 PM at the Kingston Baptist Church for E. M. Lipsey, 75, who died Sunday morning, November 8, 1953, in a Greenville hospital. Officiating at the last rites were the Rev. Fred Johnson and the Rev. Peck Williams. Burial was made in Memoryland Memorial Park.
Mr. Lipsey, a retired farmer, was born on December 13, 1877, in South Carolina and was the son of Mr. and Mrs. N. E. Lipsey. He had resided in Kingston since 1927. He was an active member of the Kingston Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Dewey S. Lipsey of New Orleans and Leon Lipsey and Bob Lipsey both of Kingston; two daughters, Mrs. M. R. Burgess of Pomona, California and Mrs. Ruth Roberts of Greenville; a brother, Claud Lipsey of Greenville; a sister, Mrs. Ada McNeil of Canyon; twelve grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
One son, Eddie Lipsey, preceded him in death in 1936.
