LOIS JASON TURNEY
Lois Jason Turney, 68, of 3902 Redbud, died at 4:30 PM, Wednesday, at Citizens General Hospital.
Funeral services were at the Park Street Baptist Church at 2:30 PM, April 6, 1978, with the Rev. Ernest C. Hinze and the Rev. James Jacobs officiating.
Burial was at Forest Park Cemetery with his nephews serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were members of the Kings Men Sunday School Class of the Park Street Baptist Church.
Mr. Turney was born on January 20,1910, in Cleburne County, Arkansas, to Ambrus W. Turney and Mary Frances Richardson Turney. He was married to Anna V. Moore on March 31, 1929, at Celeste, Texas. She died on August 17, 1961, and he later was married to Martha Marie Brundage on September 21, 1962, in Greenville.
Mr. Turney was reared in the Celeste area and was a retired electrical transformer technician, and a member of the Park Street Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Martha, Greenville; three sons, Don R. Turney, Greenville; Billy Drew Turney, Garland; and Robert Turney, Irving; two daughters, Mrs. Mary Summers, Royse City and Mrs. Peggy Jacobs, Mabank; two sisters, Mrs. Frona Johnson, Dallas, and Mrs. Rosa Hines, Cordell, Oklahoma; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and his parents.
Arrangements were handled by the Coker-Mathews-Peters Funeral Home.
