Loma Lee McWilliams Fugitt Shuart
Loma Lee McWilliams-Fugitt-Shuart, 85, of Greenville, formerly of Celeste, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on the morning of June 4, 2006, at Briarcliff Health Care Center. Funeral services are at 2:00 PM, June 6, 2006, at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bob Layman officiating. Burial follows at Memoryland Memorial Park.
Mrs. Shuart was a lifetime resident of Hunt County, living most of her life in Greenville, Leonard, and Celeste.
The daughter of May Bell Cunningham and Samuel McWilliams, she was born September 27, 1920, in White Rock community in Hunt County.
She was an active member of Highland Terrace Baptist Church before her long fight with Alzheimer’s Disease. She had served as president of the WMU, was a Sunday school teacher, and a member of the choir. She retired from Eckerd’s Drug Store and Haggar Slacks.
She lived her life for her family and reared her children in the admiration of God. She will be remembered as a praying mother and good wife and friend to whomever she met.
Surviving are three children, Curtis Fugitt of Sumner and DeLores Lindsey and Judy Corcoran of Greenville; one stepson, Jim Shuart of Colorado; a sister, LaRue Nusz of Greenville; eight grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and many loving and Christian friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Wilbur Fugitt and Robert Shuart; brothers Tip McWilliams, Jessie McWilliams, Jack McWilliams, Jimmy McWilliams, and Anson McWilliams; sisters Mattie Mae Bone, Fannie Harrell, and Lorene Harrell; a stepson, George Shuart; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers are Ralph Parks, Johnny Myers, Harold Jenkins, Bobby Fugitt, Larry Eason and Ray Wallen.
