Loyd A. Harrison, 86, of Greenville died the morning of June 19, 2006, at Presbyterian Hospital of Greenville. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Thursday at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Jim Goodwin officiating. Burial follows at Memoryland Memorial Park.
The son of Robert E. and Pauline E. Greer Harrison, he was born July 7, 1919, in Dulaney. On March 2, 1940, he married Opal Baber in Dallas. Mr. Harrison was a retired supervisor for General Dynamics. He was a Baptist. Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, James and Sherry Harrison of Ferris; two daughters and a son-in-law, Brenda Harrison Bell of Murry, Ky. and Janiece Harrison and Bill of Nashville, Tenn.; a brother, Robert Harrison of Dulaney; grandchildren Russ Harrison of Dulaney and Allie Harrison and Trishia Harrison of Ferris; great-grandchild Keleigh Harrison of Dulaney; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife in 1969, one brother and two sisters. Pallbearers are Mark Harrison, Russ Harrison, Kip Jackson, David Parrott, Bobby Lindsey and Tim Rouwalt. Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
