Loyd Shelton
Mr. Loyd Shelton, RR 2, Box 224, Celeste, Texas (CR 1019), passed away at 4:00 AM, Tuesday, December 14, 1982, in Citizens General Hospital in Greenville.
The funeral services were held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, December 15, 1982, at Salem Kinser Methodist Church in Greenville. The services were conducted by Bobby Chaney. Burial was in Celeste Cemetery.
Mr. Shelton was owner of the Celeste Construction Company. He served nine years on the Celeste School Board.
Mr. Shelton was born on January 31, 1932, in Desert, Texas, the son of Jewell M. Shelton and Mary Christine Shelton.
He was married to Lavada Vaughn in Dallas on May 26, 1950.
He is survived by his wife; three sons, Randall Shelton of Greenville, Loyd L. Shelton and Troy Shelton of Celeste; and one daughter, Renee Armstrong of Sulphur Springs. Also, one brother Doyle Shelton of Sanger, Texas; and two sister, Lequeta Ingram of Westminster and Margaret Smith of Emory; six grandsons; several nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces and great-nephews survive.
The family request memorials be made to the Celeste School in care of the First National Bank of Celeste.
