DEATH WELL KNOWN GREENVILLE WOMAN
Funeral services were held yesterday afternoon in Greenville for Mrs. Lula LeFan, 57, past worthy grand matron of the Order of the Eastern Star, who died Tuesday afternoon of pneumonia, following a short illness. Mrs. LeFan had many friends in Terrell and two weeks ago last Wednesday evening she attended a special meeting of the Eastern Star here. Mrs. LeFan was born January 15, 1879, at Lawrenceburg, Tennessee, the daughter of Rev. and Mrs. Allen H. Richardson. She was reared in Tennessee and married on May 10, 1896 to J. J. LeFan, who died in 1927. Mrs. LeFan was a member of the Eastern Star for almost 40 years and served as an official of the Greenville lodge and the grand lodge of Texas for many years prior to her elevation to the office of worthy grand matron in 1927. She was active in the work of the Christian church and taught the Berean Sunday school class. She was owner of the Tot-Teen Shop in Greenville at the time of her death. Survivors include her daughter, Mrs. C. F. Chewing of El Paso, four brothers and one sister.
