Mack Read
Mack Read passed away in a Sherman hospital. He was born in Kingston, Hunt County, Texas, on February 4, 1905. His parents were Henry Read and Annie Read. He went to West Texas at an early age.
He was married to Evan Cunningham of Dumont in May of 1928. They have made this their home until death came. He was a farmer and a rancher. He was a deacon in the Dumont Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Maxine Allison Idabore; a son, Truitt Read of Matador; one sister, Mrs. Carl Lamm of Kingston; one brother, Woodrow Read of Graham; five grandchildren, Michael Allison of Lubbock, Barbara Maxfield of Quitaque, Debra Read, Scott Read, and Vic Read of Lubbock.
He was buried in Paducah, Texas. Those attending the services from Hunt County were: Mr. and Mrs. Roy Chambliss, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Lamm, Joe Lamm, Wanda Raper, Joyce Luckett, and Mrs. Carl Lamm.
Mr. Read is survived, also, by several nieces and nephews in Hunt County.
