WOLFE CITY — Mary Ellen Shields, 86, died peacefully Oct. 5, 2006, at Smith Nursing Home in Wolfe City. Mary was born Aug. 24, 1920, in Wolfe City, the third and last child of Frank and Lucy Bacon Shields. She lived in the Wolfe City area her entire life. She was a member of First Baptist Church. Surviving are a sister-in-law, Mable Shields Teske of Victoria; five nieces and nephews and many friends. She was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister-in-law, Charles and Kathleen Lytal Shields and Marion Shields.
Graveside services are at 2 p.m. today at Mount Carmel Cemetery in Wolfe City with Rev. Kevin Mitchell of the First Baptist Church officiating. Visitation is from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. today at R.W. Owens & Son Funeral Home.
