Mary Ruth Watson Barker
Mary Ruth Watson Barker, 84 of Paris, Texas, died July 13, 2007, in a hospital in Paris. Visitation is from 6:00 to 7:30 PM, Saturday, July 14, 2007, at Peters Funeral Home in Greenville. A graveside service is scheduled at 10:00 AM Monday, July 16, 2007, at Mount Carmel Cemetery in Wolfe City with Mr. Thomas A. Willess officiating.
She was born August 28, 1922, in Hunt County, daughter of William Robert Watson and Sarah Creola (Miller) Watson. She was a homemaker and was of the Church of Christ faith.
She is survived by her son, Phillip Barker and wife Linda Barker of Celeste; a daughter, Sherry Barker of Paris; granddaughter Shannon Nicole Melheim and husband Stuart Melheim of Celeste; a sister, Juanita Walker and husband Herbert Walker of Paris; and numerous nieces, nephews and many close friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Lanis R. Barker; and nine brothers and sisters.
Pallbearers are Glenn Watson, Dewey Watson, Joe Watson, Darrell Watson, Don Watson, Jerry Watson, Medford Watson and Danny Watson.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Scottish Rite Hospital for Crippled Children in Dallas.
