Jerry Elba McCollum
Jerry Elba McCollum, 60, of Greenville died April 12, 2008, in Greenville. He was born May 3, 1933, in Saint Louis, Missouri, to Elba McCollum and Genevieve Ellane Thomas McCollum. Jerry was a production supervisor for Mohawk and was a member of the Baptist faith. He was a very proud grandfather who enjoyed taking his grandchildren places. He was like a father to everyone and was always willing to help.
Survivors are his wife, Tyla McCollum of Greenville; one daughter, Maranda Scott and husband Jeff Scott of Greenville; one son, Thomas Shane Griffis of Cleveland; three brothers, Steve McCollum and Butch McCollum of Greenville and Denis McCollum of Fort Worth; a sister, Pattie Westbrook and husband Jim Westbrook of Fort Worth; three grandchildren, Matthew Scott, Rebecca Scott, and Travis Scott, all of Greenville; many nieces and nephews and a large adopted family.
His parents preceded him in death.
A memorial service is at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, April 16, 2008, in the Lynch Funeral Service chapel with Shawn Stubblefield officiating.
