John Alfred McGuire
John Alfred McGuire was born January 9, 1855, in Adamsville, Tennessee, and died March 19, 1939, at the age of eighty-four years, two months, and ten days, due to pneumonia. I cannot tell if he had lived in Celeste, Hunt County, Texas for thirteen years or sixty-three (I suspect the latter). He was a retired farmer (having last worked in 1929), widower, and previously married to Anna L. Turney. His father was James W. McGuire from Tennessee, and his mother was Cristiana C. Groves, also, from Tennessee. Informant was J. O. McGuire, Celeste, Texas. Burial was at Lane on March 20, 1939, with J. D. Bickham in charge of the services. Dr. J. E. Cannon of Celeste, Texas was attending physician.
