Mrs. S. M. McWilliams
Mrs. S. M. McWilliams, 92, of Greenville, died at 11:00 AM on February 19, 1974, in a Greenville hospital following a long illness.
Funeral services were at 4:00 PM, Thursday, in the Sowells and Son Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Ben Smith officiating.
Burial was in the Celeste Cemetery with grandsons serving as pallbearers.
Mrs. McWilliams was born in Hunt County of April 13, 1881, the daughter of Tip Cunningham and Jackie Walker Cunningham. On June 25, 1898, she was married in Bonham to S. M. McWilliams, who preceded her in death on April 5, 1963. She was a member of the North Baptist Church.
Surviving are four sons, J. M. McWilliams of Celeste, J. S. McWilliams of Lovington, New Mexico, W. A. McWilliams and J. W. (Jack) McWilliams, both of Greenville; five daughters, Mrs. Ira Bone of Amarillo, Mrs. Richard Harrell and Mrs. Norris Harrell of Wolfe City, Mrs. A. A. Denney of Greenville, and Mrs. W. C. Fugitt of Celeste; seventeen grandchildren; forty-two great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, T. W. McWilliams in 1936, two brothers, and two sisters.
