Gwendolyn Brown Medellin, 69, of Bellaire, died the night of July 11, 2008, at Select Specialty Hospital in Houston. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Westview United Methodist Church in Greenville under the direction of Coker-Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Brian Bosworth will officiate. Burial will be in Memoryland Memorial Park. Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.Daughter of Joseph William and Elizabeth Duncan Brown, she was born March 21, 1939, in Greenville. She married Albert Medellin in May 1969 in Houston. Mrs. Medellin was a secretary. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Houston.Surviving are her husband of Bellaire; two sons, Robert Medellin of Bellaire and Dan Nichols and wife Cecily of Houston; and a grandson, Dustin Nichols of Houston.Her parents and a sister, Barbara Petty, preceded her in death.Pallbearers will be Don Angell, Neal Hales, Ronnie Lamb, James Oliver, Jim Virgin and Wayne Wallace. Edwin Kluttz and James Wallace will serve as honorary pallbearers.
