Frederick Mehew, III
Frederick Mehew III, 65, of Greenville died the morning of May 25, 2008, at his residence. A memorial service is scheduled at 2 p.m. today in Wesley United Methodist Church under the direction of Coker-Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Paul Gould will officiate. The son of Fred Jr. and Dorothy Baldwin Mehew, he was born Nov. 1, 1942, in Oklahoma City, Okla. On Nov. 27,1963, he married Janice Kohl in Watonga, Okla. Mr. Mehew was a pharmacist and owner of McGaughey Drug from 1972 to 2003 and McGaughey Home Health from 1985 to 1997. He was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church. He was also a member of Daybreak Rotary Club, Lions Club, the Foundation Board of Presbyterian Hospital of Greenville, and National Association of Horse Breeders, and a board member of Club Lake and Wesley United Methodist Church. Mr. Mehew worked at FISH Ministries. He was also an aircraft pilot. Surviving are his wife of Greenville; two sons, Jamie Paul Mehew and wife Nicki of Dallas and Sean Jennings Mehew and wife Laurie of Denver, Colo.; a daughter, Tammy Jo Valenzuela and husband Richy of Greenville; brother Steven Mehew of Wichita Falls; a sister, Peggy Scarlett of Wichita Falls and grandchildren Christopher Valenzuela, Amanda Valenzuela, Miles Mehew and Luke Mehew. His parents preceded him in death. Memorials may be made to Wesley United Methodist Church or Greenville Christian School. Pallbearers are Johnny Henson, Dee Hilton, Ralph Stroope, Ronnie Lamb, James Patterson, Hubert Lytle, Jake Jacobs, Don Bolin, Jerry Grady, Lee Spencer, Bud Clayton, J.L. Green, Bob Thomas and Kelly Fincher.
