Nate M. Morgan

Funeral services were held at Wolfe City at 2:30 PM, Saturday, November 8, 1952, for Nate M. Morgan, 72, who died at his home in the Maxey Hall community early Friday, November 7, 1952, after an illness of three months. Deceased was a brother of Mrs. Nannie Lacy of Celeste. Officiating at the last rites were the Rev. L. B. Morgan of Wolfe City and the Rev. Odie Carey of Bonham. Interment was made in the Mount Carmel Cemetery east of Wolfe City, R. W. Owens and Son Funeral Home, directing.

A native Hunt Countian, Morgan was born on September 9, 1880, the son of George Morgan and Josie Morris Morgan. He had made his home in and near Wolfe City all his life and since young manhood had been a member of the Baptist Church.

Besides his wife, the former Allie Mitchell, to whom he was married in 1910, Morgan is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Rada Jones and Mrs. Pansy Pare of Garland; five sons, Herman Morgan and Vernon Morgan of Wolfe City, Boyd Morgan of Dodd City, and Norris Morgan and Hoyt Morgan of Garland; two grandchildren; a brother, Walter Morgan of Houston: and two sisters, Mrs. Ellen Roddam of Greenville and Mrs. Nannie Lacy of Celeste.
