Mrs. Claud Owens, 79, passed away at 8:00 AM Thursday, January 21, 1965, at Gilbert Nursing Home in Leonard after several months of declining health.  She had been a patient at Risser Hospital in Bonham since December 24, 1964 and was moved to the nursing home Wednesday, January 20th, of this week.

Funeral services will be held at First Baptist Church in Leonard.  The date and time had not been definitely set at noon Thursday.  Rev. John D. Riggs, pastor of the church will officiate.  Owens Funeral Home of Wolfe City is in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Owens was born April 19, 1886 in Mississippi, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Francis M. Owens.  She married Claud Owens in 1909 at Savage and he preceded her in death on September 16, 1961.

Survivors are one daughter, Miss Louise Owens of Leonard; a brother, Sim F. Owens of Hickory Creek, and nieces and nephews.
