Mrs. J. A. Thomas
Mrs. J. A. Thomas, wife of County Superintendent Prof. J. A. Thomas, died last Friday night of tuberculosis, from which she had been suffering for the past several years, having been bedridden for many months. Mrs. Thomas was forty-five years old and the mother of six children, five of whom are living, and with their father mourn the loss of a faithful Christian wife and mother.
The family came to Greenville from Celeste where Prof. Thomas was elected superintendent and Mrs. Thomas had been an invalid the entire time.
The Messenger joined the many friends of the family in sympathy for the sorrowing. (July 19, 1907, The Greenville Messenger) Submitted by Sarah Swindell
